Gravesac

Description

Rootstock derived from the crossbreed of 161-49 Couderc and 3309 Couderc. Today there is one clone of this rootstock: 264.

Resistance to Soil Pests

Gravesac has a high degree of tolerance to phylloxera. However, tolerance to Meloidogyne incognita and Meloidogyne arenaria nematodes is moderate.

Adaptation

Gravesac is up to 15% tolerant to total calcium and and 6% tolerant to active calcium. Its tolerance to iron chlorosis is low to moderate. It performs well in acidic soils. Also, Gravesac is suitable for the temporary conditions of excess moisture during spring and its tolerance to drought is moderate. Gravesac is suitable for sandy or gravely soils.

Interaction with the implant and production targets

Gravesac generally shows a good affinity with the varieties and the robustness transmitted is moderate to high. The yields achieved are quite high and stable and the products are generally of good quality. Particularly good results in terms of the aromatic profile of the varieties due to balanced ripening.

Specific multiplication properties

Gravesac has internodes of a long diameter while the growth of the node buds is limited. The wood produced is quite hard and the yield is good (40.000 -70.000 meters / ha). The performance of the grafts in both cutting and grafting is quite good.

Parasite Resiliance

Gravesac is moderately susceptible to the foliar form of phylloxera and has a very good degree of tolerance to mildew disease and anthracnosis.
